Very disappointed and disturbed. I was not informed of the cost of the procedure and was simply told my insurance covered it. They charged for random services aside from the fetal echo scan noted on the invoice as "other fetal evaluations" even though it was only supposed to be a fetal echo. Charged for an office visit that never happened. I researched what a scan like this should roughly cost both with and without insurance and this office charged 4 times the amount just to see what they could squeeze out of the insurance company as noted by the front desk person I spoke to. To make matters worse I never received a bill or explanation and was sent to collections. I would never recommend this practice especially with such a delicate matter.

My 14 year old son saw Dr. Apfel at his Paramus office. Everyone in the office was kind and professional. Dr. Apfel was personable, funny and very down to earth. He spent time explaining the different tests to my son which really helped to make him more comfortable.
