Traumatic experience. Got an IUD here. Firstly, I know IUD insertion is easy and quick for some people, but for me it was the most painful experience — I was seeing black and about to faint. I expected the doctor to stay with me and monitor me. But no, she left me alone in the room to show myself out. There was at least a very kind nurse who came back in and got me some juice from the break room to help raise my blood sugar. A couple days later, I had questions about some bad symptoms I was experiencing. Called the office, who redirected me to the doctor’s phone line. The doctor was not compassionate, quite rude, and sounded angry at me for calling her through the “emergency” line. I didn’t even know I was on the supposed “emergency” line. The office redirected me, how was I supposed to know? Years later I got my IUD taken out here as well. A doctor (a different one this time) tried to tell me the symptoms are all in my head, or that they were caused by birth control pills rather than the IUD (even though I had been off the pill for several years, and the symptoms coincided with my IUD timeline…?). It seems she was really encouraging me to keep the IUD in. These doctors seem more concerned with keeping me on birth control, even if it makes me feel terrible everyday. Anyway, I persisted with my choice and she finally agreed to take out the IUD. Overall not very compassionate care.
