The most talented neurosurgeon with the best bedside manner! Incredible heart, smile, and energy..EXACTLY what you want to see/feel post surgery. He is extremely patient and takes time to educate. He encourages questions and wants you to be comfortable before you decide to proceed with surgery. He’s done two successful awake craniotomies! He’s the ABSOLUTE G.O.A.T! 🙌🏼🙏❤️

I am fortunate to have been referred to John Boockvar, MD who graciously saw me between his scheduled surgeries. In a short period of time, he provided me with more substantive information about my brain tumor and the nature of the surgery to remove it than two other neurosurgeons with whom I previously consulted. Dr. Boockvar was responsive to my communications, and managed my meningioma with the challenges of a low platelet count and an allergy to imaging contrast agents. When I expressed concerns about the aesthetics of the open craniotomy given my propensity to form keloid scarring, he was quick to suggest that his neuroplastics colleague, Dr. Netanel Ben-Shalom, scrub in to address the scalp incision. After I developed a second tumor in another area of my body, Dr. Boockvar kindly referred me to an excellent Northwell physician. I am deeply grateful to have had the benefit of Dr. Boockvar’s neurosurgical expertise and his compassionate approach to patient care. I also wish to recognize Rachel Zelman, MSN, FNP-BC and Olivia Albers, MSN, FNP-BC, both of whom were extremely helpful with numerous pre- and post-surgical issues.

John Boockvar is one of the Best Doctors. He is very professional and he knows what he is doing. He makes his patients feel safe and reassures them that everything will be okay. I met Dr. Boockvar in 2021 and he assisted another Dr. During my surgery. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this specialty.

Dr. Boockvar is an expert at his craft. He is uber smart, more than accomplished as a surgeon. He has a wealth of experience, crazy skills and knowledge.
