Warning to anyone that schedules a telehealth with Dr. Altchek through DermatologistOnCall via their insurance- if you try to schedule an in-person follow-up appointment, his staff just gaslights you and tells you he doesn't do telehealth. Even if you have a copay paid to Dr. Altchek, and a claim on your insurance paid to Dr. Altchek. They will deny accepting your insurance, even though they are listed in network and the insurance was accepted just a few weeks prior. Go anywhere else, I wouldn't trust this office with medical records if they are this disorganized.

Dr. Altchek has been my dermatologist for many years and has treated a variety of skin conditions that affected me over the years. He is an experienced and excellent doctor, and I would recommend him.

I scheduled a new patient appointment with Altchek Dermatology based on numerous recommendations, great reviews, and the fact that they accepted my insurance. I confirmed a Friday morning appointment and arranged to take time off work. However, the next day I received an email informing me that my appointment had been rescheduled to Thursday—without any prior communication or consent. Unfortunately, the new time conflicted with an important work meeting. I called the office to ask if there were any other available times that day. The person on the phone explained that this is a small practice and scheduling is difficult, and told me there were no other options. As someone who has worked in administrative roles, I understand the complexities of scheduling. But the lack of communication and unwillingness to accommodate was surprising and disappointing. It gave me a poor impression of how new patients are treated. I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere and am currently searching for a more reliable and communicative practice. Altchek Dermatology may have strong reviews, but my experience suggests otherwise.

Dr. Altchek is always on schedule - no waiting, always pleasant conversation. He’s extremely thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr. Altchek has been my dermatologist for over three decades. He's such a caring and compassionate dermatologist and also extremely knowledgeable. He actually called me to follow up on a Mohs surgery that I recently had. In these times, doctors hardly ever do that.
