Dr. Chou truly represents the best of our profession. I have been practicing medicine for 36 years and had the privilege of interacting with numerous physicians over the years. Dr. Chou is not only a brilliant, incisive, meticulous and thorough physician, he is a kind and gentle person and truly cares about each individual. This is evident immediately. Most of all, he is trustworthy and at the end of the day, when a physician becomes a patient, one needs to trust another physician with his life and I truly testify that you can trust Dr. Chou with your life. His meticulous analysis of my case literally changed the type of surgery that I am going to undergo. He is amazing.

I met Dr. Dean Chou at Columbia Neurosurgery in NYC, with regard to a herniated disc. At the time of our first meeting I was in a lot of pain and had radiculopathy symptoms down my left arm causing weakness. Dr. Chou recommended surgery but as I was having a cortisone injection i decided to wait. I met him a second time and we scheduled surgery. I went through the pre-op procedures and was cleared for surgery but just before surgery Dr. Chou in his very calm and confident manner suggested I hold off the surgery and give it more time to heal on its own, which it has continued to do. I don't think many surgeons would have held off and thank Dr. Chou profusely for making the right decision on my behalf. You will not be disappointed with Dr. Chou. He takes time to explain things and his professional approach is what one needs in one's time of crisis.

Amazing neurosurgeon who just completed my cervical disk replacement. Dr. Chou is an exceptional physician and I feel truly grateful for finding him at a time when I was experiencing debilitating pain. During my consult, Dr. Chou was attentive to my concerns and needs, he answered all of my questions, and offered several options. Afterwards, I had follow up questions and he quickly called me back to answer them all. I had my surgery early in July of this year and woke up without the pain! He was there after the surgery to make sure I was ok and let me know about the surgery. I have no reservations recommend Dr. Chou to anyone who needs a spine neurosurgeon!
