I began working with Patricia Ladis last spring, having been referred to her by my orthopedist, after having a Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment for a torn hamstring. Using her whole body, whole system approach, she not only helped me to recover from the treatment and get back to all of my activities, most importantly running, she addressed all the other musculoskeletal issues that were causing that hamstring to tear in the first place. She helped me engage and strengthen areas that were weak, causing me to put too much stress on my right side (and we realized that it was my right side where all my injuries seem to occur for this very reason!). She analyzed my running style and helped me make some minor corrections that have changed everything.
Then, this winter I fell skiing and tore my ACL. Luckily, it was only a partial tear and my surgeon, after a month of wearing a knee brace and PT with Patricia, said the injury is healing itself and I did not need surgery after all. Again, I credit Patricia for helping me to avoid surgery with more strengthening exercises, musculoskeletal work, and voila, back to running with no knee instability.
Patricia’s approach is all about engaging muscles you didn’t know you had,, learning to breathe and move properly and regularly, realigning your body to its natural state, and using the power of positive thinking to improve not just your injury, but your body as a whole, to get it working properly again. On top of that, she is a fabulous person, so fun to work with and talk to, sensible, kind, and a great listener. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
