Totally unprofessional staff. The ER nurses stood around and laughed at patients. There was no one in the waiting room when I arrived, yet it took me 2 hours to see a doctor. But the worst part was checking in while on day 4 of a migraine and being YELLED at by the person who was supposed to be taking my info. this person said: YOU BETTER STOP CRYING. TEARS ARE BAD FOR MIGRAINES. It’s funny how a person checking me in to the ER thinks she’s a neurologist (1) and also thinks she can just give info like that when it is NOT true (2). Then, another staff member came up while I was trying to read the consent forms and I asked her to help me, and she said, “you were here yesterday, and you walked out - i know who you are.” Ma’am, I’ve never been a patient here in my entire life. Sorry if I look like someone else, but you’ve got no right to come at me that way in that setting. It took 5 hours to hydrate me because every single member of the team dropped the ball after every step. I had NO LIQUID for 5 hours. They yelled at me for crying, refused to provide a sheet or even a chair that was comfortable. The only way I got hydrated and got to lie down for an hour was when I made a scene and yelled. Profanity offends them but pain does not. When they moved me because I was now a “problem”, they finally checked my chart and said “Oh, sorry, we thought this happened.” Again: this started hours earlier at 9:45 in the morning. Not busy. ZERO people in the waiting room. Zero patient advocacy. The young male doctors were unbearable and would not stop yelling at patients. It was a nightmare and there is a huge management problem there. If you’d like medical help, ask the unhoused gentleman on my corner because he’ll be more responsive than this ER. Also, most doctors and nurses are taught to not say “calm down” or “relax”. These doctors screamed those words across the ER. It was purposeful. They literally had no respect for their patients at all. I went in with such low blood pressure I could barely walk. I left with such high blood pressure that they wanted me to stay and have them do it again. I declined since it was obviously their fault. I’m not pursuing legal action at this time. But I am telling every single person I know to use literally any other ER. I cannot express how terrible yesterday was and I don’t want any other people in pain to have to go through this. It was cruel, it felt punitive, and it was badly administered medical “care”. The misogyny was unsurprising in health care but the nasty attitude of almost every staff member was appalling. When i tell you I’ve had a migraine for four days, do not yell at me. That’s ovbious to anyone who pays attention. MINUS ZERO STARS
