I started coming to this clinic because my doctor kept switching offices, and I didn't want to switch doctors since I’ve been seeing him since 2016. Unfortunately, he retired this year, so I was assigned to Dr. Rivera for my regular check-up. However, my appointment with Dr. Rivera was, without a doubt, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. It was unprofessional, and honestly, I felt like I was treated unethically. If you have any concerns about weight—whether you’re overweight or obese—do yourself a favor and avoid seeing this doctor. He made me feel like I wasn’t worth anything. I believe doctors should be compassionate and respectful. During my appointment, I told Dr. Rivera that I was just there to refill a prescription, that I didn’t need anything else, and that I was considering finding a new doctor. His response was simply, “I don’t care, you can do whatever you want, go wherever you want.” If you struggle with weight issues, I would strongly advise you to save yourself the trouble and avoid this clinic, especially seeing Dr. Rivera. The way I was treated was hurtful and discriminatory, and no one should have to experience that.
