After being told by a senior physical therapist with a doctorate that there was nothing more PT could do for my recurrent rotator cuff tear, the chief of shoulder surgery at one of New York’s best hospitals offered me a reverse total shoulder replacement. As this is a large operation with possible major complications, I decided to try PT again. Thank you, thank you, thank you Mondito, a physical therapist at Metro Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation, 4 E 84 St, NY, NY. Mondito’s exam was more precise and more detailed than any prior exam of my shoulder. He found some function, though quite weak, that he thought we could strengthen. Mondito gave me precise exercises to do daily at home. After two months of these daily exercises, I was able to play platform tennis two days in a row and, continuing these exercises daily, I will be ready for tennis well before the Central Park courts open in a few months, instead of recovering from a major prosthetic shoulder operation. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mondito!
