When researching for a urologist to perform the Green Light procedure on me, I came across Dr Zaytoun. I called one of the Mount Sinai phone numbers and asked specifically if Dr. Zaytoun performs the Green Light procedure at the Brooklyn location of Mount Sinai hospital. I was told that he does. I had an opportunity with a different urologist to perform the procedure at Brooklyn Hospital, but I chose not to, because I wanted it done closer to my home due to my physical limitations and lack of transportation and convenience. I told this to Dr. Zaytoun. Although, I had a referral and CT Urogram results from another urologist, Dr Zaytoun issued an order for an ultrasound. I asked him if all goes well how soon could he perform the green light procedure. He told me within a week after reviewing the results with me. I kept my appointment yesterday expecting to set a date for the procedure. When Dr. Zaytoun and I agreed that the ultrasound results were clear and there was nothing on there that we did not already know from previous tests and records, that's when he very nonchalantly said he doesn't perform the procedure in Brooklyn. When I questioned him why not, he said the machine used to be in Brooklyn but it no longer is and that I would have to either go to Manhattan or to Astoria, Queens. I said well as long as Mount Sinai gave me WRONG information that you do the procedure here in Brooklyn, have Mount Sinai provide me with transportation. He said that can be provided by the health insurance company, but I know my health insurance company doesn't provide that for me in my plan. He sort of gave me a look/shrug telling me, well that's the best he could do, and when I questioned that, I said that was unacceptable. He asked me to wait out in the reception/waiting area. A few moments later, the young lady called me up to the front desk and offered me a referral to visit a doctor in Astoria who would perform the procedure. I said to her that means another consult and another copay? She said yes. I said NO thank you along with a few "colorful" words and walked out the door. To my surprise, several days later, I received a robocall from Mount Sinai telling me I had an appointment with a doctor in Astoria, Queens. I immediately cancel it. The entire situation frustrates and disgusts me.
