I’ve been to the gym and worked out with a trainer, and had some experience with Physical Therapy (PT) after surgeries, but never have I ever had a massage. I was very uncomfortable about doing a massage. I've never done it before, and I guess as a man, I had some reservations about doing a massage. Being a man, I guess I always thought of it as maybe something that's just a soothing luxury and not so much a rigorous aspect of PT. I know now I was very wrong about that. I knew the massage would be from a woman, and now I know the difference between a therapeutic massage and a basic relaxation massage. What I’m getting is a therapeutic massage. It is soothing in that I feel very good afterwards, but it is also an intense experience that gets into all the muscle groups, and you know your muscles are being worked. Especially the problematic muscle groups you’re getting PT for. You're really getting a deep massage that can sometimes be a little rough, but not too rough because she's always communicating with you, and she's getting feedback from your body, and she's getting feedback from you verbally. And so, t's very relaxing while you're doing it. and at the same time, very intense, and you start to feel a warmth and a tingling. Afterwards, you feel great. Your whole body is tingling. You're very relaxed. I describe it as sort of a buzz. At first, my massage was on a separate day from my PT, but recently I had an opportunity to have my massage right after PT on the same day. That turned out to be an excellent experience. I always feel good after physical therapy. My aches and pains are relieved. I feel both relaxed and energized. To go from the physical therapy right into the massage my body was more than ready to receive the massage. My body was very receptive to the massage, and I just felt great afterwards that day. Total Zen lol. I would encourage anyone to experience a therapeutic massage at Empowerment PT. I’m noticing a benefit from coming here. My weeks are better. It shows in my day-to-day existence; doing things in and getting around the house, things I need to do, physical things I need to do, getting in and out of the car, shopping and other errands. Staying on my feet and doing a lot of walking. That's why I come here. I need that help. Don’t be nervous about coming here. I was nervous too. But the staff is nice. The staff is actually great here. The other people who come here for PT and massage are very nice people. Just give it a shot, and you’ll start feeling the results pretty quickly.
