Mark Schneider
I’ve seen a number of physical therapists in Manhattan, and Sheldon is by far the best I’ve worked with. What sets him apart is his deep understanding of biomechanics and how carefully he evaluates what’s actually causing the pain. I originally came in with lower back pain that radiated down toward my knee and pelvis. After an MRI, an orthopedic surgeon believed it was likely disc-related and suggested injections. Sheldon instead noticed that my pelvis was misaligned and was able to correct it during a session through targeted manual therapy — the pain disappeared. I’ve had similar experiences with neck pain as well, where the exercises he recommended quickly resolved the issue. Unlike many places that put you on generic exercise programs, Sheldon takes the time to understand the mechanics behind the problem and treats it very precisely. Most of the time I walk in with pain and leave feeling significantly better. He has never once asked me for a review, but his work absolutely deserves one. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and highly skilled physical therapist.
