Matthew Veenendaal Abola, MD

We met Dr. Abola on the day of my son’s surgery after our original surgeon unexpectedly became ill with the flu. My son had broken his pinky playing goalkeeper and needed pins inserted, and because this procedure could not wait, we decided to proceed—and we are so grateful we did. Dr. Abola was absolutely amazing. He met us at my son’s bedside, carefully went over every detail of the procedure, and answered all of our questions with patience, calmness, and thoroughness. He immediately put us at ease, and we felt completely confident that our 12-year-old was in the best hands. After the surgery, Dr. Abola personally met with me in the recovery room to explain exactly what was done and what to expect next. The most impressive part my son had zero pain after surgery. At our follow-up appointment, my son specifically asked to return to Dr. Abola—that alone speaks volumes. He has exceptional bedside manner and is wonderful with children.

Dr. Abola was wonderful! He was thoughtful in his approach to my injury, answered all my questions and left me feeling quite positive about my recovery. He also answered my questions that I sent through the portal in a very timely manner. His office staff was also helpful and kind. Highly recommend Dr. Abola!
