I have been seeing Dr. Avaliani for many years and can confidently say she is in a league of her own. I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Avaliani and her office staff. I came in specifically requesting a light Botox treatment, clearly stating that I did not want more than 40 units. Despite this, both Dr. Avaliani and her staff repeatedly pushed me toward a much higher amount—around 80 units—which significantly increased the cost to way over $2,000. What was most concerning was the justification they provided. I was told that this higher amount was “FDA recommended” and that doing fewer units was not an option. This is simply not true. The FDA does not mandate a fixed number of Botox units per patient or per face, and dosing should be tailored to individual preferences and goals. There was also an issue with a $500 gift certificate I had. Initially, when they were recommending a more expensive treatment, they agreed to honor the expired certificate and apply it toward my service. However, once I asked to reduce both the number of units and overall cost for a lighter treatment, they suddenly reversed their position and refused to accept the $500 certificate. This felt inconsistent and unfair. Overall, I felt pressured and misled into spending far more than I asked for. A reputable provider should respect a patient’s preferences, and maintain consistent policies—especially when it comes to pricing and honoring prior commitments. This experience felt more like a sales-driven interaction than a patient-centered consultation. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions and be cautious if they feel pressured into treatments beyond what they originally requested.
