Lotus Ahmed, D.O

Dr. Lotus Ahmed was my primary care physician, and I originally went to her because my sister recommended her. I’m really glad I listened. During a time in my life when I hit a difficult block, Dr. Ahmed was incredibly supportive and helped guide me toward getting back on track with my health and overall well-being. She is extremely capable, attentive, and thorough with her documentation. I also appreciated how organized her practice is, especially the patient portal which made it easy to keep track of my care and stay informed. I’ve since moved out of state, but if I ever move back, I know exactly where I’d want to resume my care. I’m very grateful to have had her as my PCP.

Absolute worst experience. I came in with a clear complaint of persistent headaches, but the provider was extremely dismissive and offered no meaningful assessment. Instead, she immediately suggested I see an eye doctor to “assess vision loss,” even though I had no vision changes or symptoms suggesting an eye issue. Following her advice wasted hours of my time I saw three different specialists, all of whom said there was no reason I should have been referred to an eye doctor for this complaint. I provided her with all the information I provided the specialists who all came to the same conclusion. The provider failed to perform a proper evaluation or offer appropriate guidance. She failed to think through this possibility. My condition has since worsened, and I left feeling unheard and frustrated. It genuinely seemed like she wanted to pass me off rather than help me. Do not trust her to care for you, she appeared incompetent and my condition has since worsened during the time I waited to see an eye doctor per her guidance

The office on Ocean Parkway was so much better. After Dr. Ahmed moved to McDonald Avenue, the wait time became ridiculously long and all appointment times out the window. Also, she doesn't give patients more than 3 month supply for necessary medications and does not care about certain patients. I used to go to Dr. Ahmed when her Nurse Practitioner was the only one I would see. There was no wait time. The doctor would never see me and the practitioner would give a decent supply of refills. My experiences after the office moved took a turn for the worst I guess because I had medicaid at that time. Now I have proper insurance and new in network doctors who can provide extra refills without needing to see me, especially when they are supposed to know me. Recently, Dr. Ahmed told me to keep an empty stomach for a blood test and gave me the appointment time 3pm in the afternoon. I had nothing to eat or drink since the night before. I was on low energy when I got to her office and saw it was packed with people ahead of me. I waited a half an hour and walked out without seeing the doctor. Another time to give me results she agreed to do it by phone. She called late from an undisclosed phone number and let it ring very few rings and hung up. Never got the results. My new insurance contacted her for express refills and she never answered. I had to call her office for information when they told me the doctors policy is to meet with patients before giving refills. Dr. Ahmed is horrible with patients. I would never recommend her.

She is very attentive with her patient care. Dr. Ahmed makes you feel that has her patient tjat you are not alone.. Priceless!

She's the best , I have migraines problems and othe issues, she helped me find good specialists .she always listens to me carefully like a doctor and friend too
