T
Dr.Bernstein is a rude 85 yr elderly man that should've retired a long time ago. He asked me a series of questions, who referred me to him, why did I come to see him but before I could completely answer any of his questions, he would constantly interrupt me. I arrived with supporting documents & complete blood work regarding auto immune disorder(s). He said that the supporting documents didn't tell him anything (which was totally not true). I stated this him... He asked me how do I know of this? I replied with anger " ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IT'S SAYS IT RIGHT THERE ON THE DOCUMENTS & MY PRIMARY DOCTOR SAID SO!" He then asked me have I had any psychological issues or ever seen a therapist? Because it seems to him that I'm angry and want to be sick. I had to lol at this point to keep calm... He then rudely said numerous of times that he wasn't giving me any medications.. I calmly said to that old man that I never asked him for any medications because I wasn't there for any medications because I don't take any medications. And that I was only there looking for a definitive answer of what exact auto immune disorder that I may have. I expect to receive an answer from him by scheduling to run a CT scan or biopsy test. He said "no" and asked me to squat, touch my toes, walk a straight line & to squeeze his hands. It seemed to me he was giving me a DUI test (I dnt drink or do drugs). He said that I looked fine to him & that I was ok. He said he needs to go the computer to look into my chart but needed for me to step outside the room because "people watching him type makes him nervous & that he can concentrate better reading charts when he's alone". After ten minutes of waiting, he never asked me to come back into his office. I asked the receptionist what's going on. She said that I was done & to schedule an appointment with him in 3wks and I need to give blood work at another site 1 block away. I goes there & the nurse says that Dr. Bernstein didn't schedule me in for blood work. She calls his office approximately 12:10pm but he's gone for the day and is not accepting pager calls. I reported all of this to my primary doctor and she listened with jaw dropping expression. She agreed that he's needs to retire and she referred me to another rheumatologist.
