Joel J Bauer, MD

I have been a patient of Manhattan Surgical Associates for approximately 40 years. Dr. Bauer has been a very concerned and dedicated physician and surgeon. His expertise and experience in the field and specifically about my medical history has been outstanding. He is very responsive to emergency calls and does not hesitate with a quick office visit and also to refer me for immediate attention to a colleague within and outside the practice. Dr. Bauer always returns phone calls and information about my condition is always detailed for my understanding. Dr. Bauer is caring and compassionate, qualities that are particularly comforting.

Dr. Bauer has been my surgeon for about 5 years and I highly recommend anyone looking for a surgeon to look no further. Dr. Bauer helps keep his patients well-informed before and after their procedures. He uses his wealth of experience to give patients the best care possible. His skill as a surgeon match the professionalism and compassion he brings to his patients.

Bauer ignored surgical permission form & performed procedure which changed the quality of my life & family. He was only given permission to do a minor procedure. Dr Gelernt was the best and Bauer should never have gone near the surgery that Dr Gelernt had done and was fully functional and no leakage.

Dr. Bauer has performed 3 of my intestinal surgeries due to Crohn's Disease. He has given me a great quality of life. I just ran my first NYC Marathon less than 2 years after my last surgery.

I had the pleasure of working for Dr. Bauer and Gorfine. As well as being a patient. They both are excellent at their work. They have compassion and truly listen to your concerns and most of all, discuss the surgical procedures with you so you are well informed. I highly recommend.
