James Drake Auran, M.D.

Dr.Auran may I say is one of the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctors I have ever had the privilege of working with to improve and to better understand what I am clinically living with, and the future that I may have to confront. I can't say enough how pleased I am to have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him on my health care concerns. Dr.Auran listened and developed multi-prong approach to improve my vision.

Dr. Auran has always displayed the kindest bedside manner. He always takes his time to complete every possible test, making sure he is not missing anything. Dr. Auran will be missed, and I wish him the best days ahead down the road of retirement from NYP. We are losing a great physician at this institution. Bright lights and lanes ahead for you Dr. Auran.

Simply put, Dr. Auran halted my loss of vision resulting from undiagnosed glaucoma. How can you really thank a doctor who did that for you and probably has done that for thousands of patients!

Dr. Auran is brilliant, kind, thorough, and patient. I'm very sad that he is retiring soon!

Dr. Auran is so meticulous and exact in his methods, that it's a pleasure see him at work. He won't let go until he understands, through measurements, and gives you a satisfactory explanation of any condition.
