Zeynep Fatma Altun, M.D., Ph.D.

I was a patient with Dr. Altun for about 8 months in 2022. Then I moved to another state, and missed a last appointment with her on January 2023. I was very busy with the new work and new life in a new state. Then many things happened and I made another move to a different state. I had been under overwhelming stress and I had just got back into taking care of my mental health. I reached out to Talkiatry to request a new clinician licensed in the new state, and in the meantime, a refill, if possible. Talkiatry contacted Dr. Altun. She responded by discharging me, and Talkiatry deactivated my account before I could even read the discharge letter. I'm not sure what her reasoning was, when a patient reached out for care, and to request not her, but a different clinician, and she discharged the patient before they could get the care they needed. Her action was the opposite of caring, and put the patient at risk. Her action was extremely unprofessional, and reflected badly not only on her, but also on Talkiatry. This is the first time I've met a physician like her, and I am utterly disappointed.

Their office scheduled an appointment without my knowing, and I didn't find about it until after I was charged the appointment already passed. The doctor was also super judgey during our whole session and never gave me the follow up documents she said she would.
