Vijayakumar Alla, M.D

Dr. Alla is incredibly bright and knows his stuff. He gets straight to the point and is not a time waster. If he doesn’t know something he’ll tell you he’s not sure instead of sugar coating a possible medical diagnosis. I am moving so will no longer be coming to this office. I do want to say his office staff are also really lovely. If it was just me writing a review for Dr. Alla and his front desk team this practice would get 5 stars. However, the office in Astoria, has gone downhill ever since he hired an incompetent PA, named Channah/Hannah who does whatever she wants in this office since Dr. Alla is only there 1x a week. She pretends to know what she’s talking about but she doesn’t. I honestly know more than her as a nurse. She had me get the MMR vaccine about 3x when the CDC clearly says it is not mandatory even if your blood work doesn’t show immunity so long as you received a booster in 5 years. This woman was making me get a MMR (which is once in a lifetime vaccine) every year because my results wouldn’t show I allegedly had immunity to it. I also needed an MRI for the longest time because my TMJ was severely flared up. I’ve asked her for one for years, she kept denying me one (as if the MRI was going to be paid out of her salary lol), then she finally agreed to ordering me one so long as I send her all my past medical records of oral surgeons I've been to, I called my insurance to find out she never submitted any authorization for an MRI. She lied. She also told me Dr. Alla would never write me a referral for one as they don’t do that in the office. Which was also another lie and way of her overstepping boundaries as a PA under Dr. Alla, as Dr. Alla did in fact refer me out to get an MRI with zero issues. She’s very arrogant, for no reason, and always wants to know about your personal life and mentions nothing about hers. All the other girls in the office have negative comments about her and I can definitely see why. I’m sure if she worked at her local cultural clinic she would not be treating her people with lies, arrogance, disrespect, and would most definitely refer a patient to get an MRI esp if they’ve been in chronic pain for so long. I’m not sure how she became a PA but I wouldn’t trust her again.

I used to visit Dr. Chana for years, but since the management changed, everything went downhill. The woman at the front desk was so rude and unprofessional that she wouldn’t even let me have my appointment. Whoever hired her made a big mistake. Stay away from this place.

Came in for an annual check up and Dr. Alla and staff are friendly. Dr. Alla gives good advice.

This is one of the BEST clinics I've ever been to. Dr. Alla and Dr. Chana are extremely thorough and sweet. They listen to ALL concerns, gives referrals if needed. They also both follows up by personal phone call outside of business hours. It is crystal clear that they care about their patients and have the best interest in mind continuously. It is very simple to make appointments, and their schedule is flexible enough for early morning or late in the afternoon. Clean space and professional service. Very easily accessible and responsive by phone and email. ALL personnel in the office are professional caring and diligent. Every visit is a welcoming place that is attentive and never long waits. I am in deep gratitude and impressed with the service this clinic provides. If feels like each person is hand picked to provide only the best service. Kadeja and Jamaica(the ladies in the front desk and nurse attendants) are exceptional and go above and beyond to the call of duty. I HIGHLY recommend this clinic, and I'm grateful my immediate family have all transfered over here. I continue to rave about my doctor's to friends and other family members. We travel from Manhattan to Queens because the service is truly impeccable, and unmatched. 🙏🏼🙌🏼💯💙
