Dr. Stuart Mark Bernstein, D.P.M.

This podiatrist is a SCAMMER! He cheated me out of $200! My insurance covered 50% for orthotics and usually the patient doesn’t pay anything until a doctor’s claim is processed, but he told me I was REQUIRED to pay the FULL amount to him and that my insurance would refund the 50% ($200) once he filed his claim. Months go by, NO REFUND! My insurance company said that by paying him the full amount, the reimbursement was outside of their control and I shouldn’t have paid him ANYTHING until the claim was processed and fees were determined by the insurance company, not the doctor. Any refund moving forward would have to come from HIS OFFICE. I spend 6 months going back and forth with his billing agent/office manager, Susan. She insisted that this could be resolved, submitted multiple claims that all got denied, instead of just issuing me a refund directly. During this time, Dr Borenstein refused to speak to me. Susan eventually stopped returning my calls. No refund paid. 5 YEARS LATER... Susan emails me, soliciting business!!! I remind her that they still owe me $200. She doesn’t respond! THEN... Dr Borenstein sees my negative review on Yelp and sends me a message claiming ignorance to the matter and asked how he can resolve this issue. I reply saying a refund of $200 thats legally due to me would be the only resolution. I NEVER HEAR BACK FROM HIM AGAIN! What made this experience even MORE INFURIATING was that I couldn’t use the orthotics because they were made so thick and bulky they hurt and didn’t fit my shoes! He ignored my request to have them remade saying I would get used to them and I needed to buy bigger shoes. Even a size bigger than my usual shoe size was still to small! DR BERNSTEIN IS A FRAUD AND LIAR
