Dr. Abdul is an exceptional OB/GYN who provides outstanding care to her patients. She has an incredible bedside manner, making me feel welcomed and comfortable from my very first visit. She takes the time to listen to all of my concerns and answer any questions I have in depth, never making me feel rushed or dismissed. Her expertise, professionalism, and compassion have made me feel confident in the care she provides.

I want to express my (overdue!) thanks to Dr. Abdul and her team. She completely changed the scope of my healing and how I view my body, because previously every other GYN I would see was extremely rough, unforgiving, impatient, etc. As a GYN you expect someone to be gentle with your flower, but unfortunately some people are not invested in truly helping you individually. I shared a lot of my anxiety and fears previously with her assistant and Dr. A — her assistant, Janet, unfortunately does not work at the office anymore, but she was also truly a gift. She was also a positive asset to my pelvic healing journey. I have a pelvic floor condition that stems from anxiety in which no one talks about it too much due to that shame, and I felt so embarrassed for years. I was a little late to my first appointment unfortunately and I was grateful they still saw me and didn’t treat me poorly due to that. Dr. A was kind, patient, and delicate with me, including the nursing staff who saw me. I’m a trans patient so it already was something that I was nervous needing in a field that is very “gender centered” involving vaginal health. She was very gender affirming, answered all my questions and made me feel successful. I was able to complete my first Pap smear and after a year of anxiety off and on, I made the decision to complete a hysterectomy with Dr. A. She knows how much of a mess I went through to even GET the surgery and I know she was as stressed as I was, it showed her care. It can be very confusing to navigate this all sometimes but she has made it easier. I struggle at times to communicate my needs and ask for help, but she made it easier. It’s almost a year post-op now and I can see I’ve grown and I’m grateful to have a second chance now. I’ll forever remember my experience as it was my first positive one regarding a GYN. I have recommended her to people who also share the same fears I did. I’m always grateful for doctors, and especially black doctors who take their time to show patient care not as a CLIENT but as a human being. 🩷

Dr. Abdul is an incredibly thorough and kind OBGYN. She took me on when I was considering getting pregnant and tested for lingering issues no other doctor mentioned could be an issue. When I got pregnant I looked forward to appointments where she would educate and reassure me, taking time to listen, answer questions and get to know my birth preferences. I’m grateful she also delivered my baby - giving me the coaching and guidance that I needed to have the birth experience I hoped for.

Dr. Abdul-Karim is the best OB-GYN doctor ever. I absolutely love her and the way she took care of me through my pregnancy. When I gave birth she made sure she was there and helped take through it. I trust her and highly recommend her to any and everybody!
