I don’t usually leave reviews, but I was specifically asked to by the doctor, so here we are. This was the most bizarre doctors visit I’ve ever attended and made me question whether ZocDoc is a functional platform. The doctor clearly did not review my intake forms and asked if I was aware I had ADHD upon meeting me for the first time. I said I had been medicated when I was younger and it increased anxiety. She waved that away, saying that I was probably over medicated (not asking what dosage I was on). She then explained, and this is a direct quote, that “people with adhd brains are stuck with a child’s brain walking around in an adult body.” This is a gross oversimplification of ADHD and as a reminder, this was not my intent for going to the doctor (I was trying to establish a basis of care with a PCP since I’m new to NY). She then pointed out that my feet were flat and that I “have a lazy eye” (I do not, and have been to optometrists and competent doctors throughout my life). She recommended experimental eye surgery that “sometimes corrects it for adult patients, but you really need surgery as a child.” I had to remind her I am on antianxiety medication despite adding it to the form, and she said “that’s a high dose, it’s probably what is managing your ADHD.” She also incorrectly talked about the left and right brain being “out of sync” and that was the reason for my malformed “lazy eye.” She looked in my ears and said they looked red, I said I’d cleaned them with qtips and know that’s not something I should do. She recommended gel tips (also not recommended by ENTs). I told her I have a ganglion cyst on my left wrist, she mentioned in Russia they’d hit it with a bible but in the US you have to get surgery. I was taken aback by her insistence that I get elective experimental eye surgery and that my entire form was maladapted from having ADHD. Her bedside manner was intense and it was such a chaotic appointment start to finish, ending with her arguing with front of office staff in front of me. Bizarre experience start to finish and I will not be back.

Please do not go here, just like other reviews their billing system is a scam. I just came in as a new patient for an annual physical and now I end up paying for all lab work because their office refuse to give my insurance information to the lab. I even called the lab to give my insurance and it wasn't taken care of either. This office is super hands off and do not care and just submit tons of lab work knowing that the patient will be billed for everything. Additionally, I was never told from the start of my visit in this office that it is the patients responsibility to contact the labs to make payment. It's ridiculous. What a crazy process. Be aware if they have worked out something with the lab where this can be a potential scam of overcharging people.

Comprehensive care by a doctor who takes the time to listen to patients! Thank you Dr. Belkin! Highly recommend!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Belkin very regularly for years, and she is by far the most focused, thorough and caring, doctor I’ve ever had. On my very first visit a long time ago, which was just a regular annual physical, she actually diagnosed me with something I hadn’t even come in for and wasn’t concerned about, and she was spot on. The treatment has been truly life-changing, and would not have been possible without her. She follows up consistently, and I feel like she genuinely leads my healthcare instead of leaving me to figure it out alone. Left to my own devices I probably wouldn’t be even going to any doctor (it was always something I tried to avoid when I was younger), but because of her I’m in great hands, which is important now that I’ve hit middle age. I know for a fact my health would be in big trouble if it wasn’t for her, so honestly it’s been life-saving to have found her! PS Her staff is really nice and the office clean and the wait never long, in my experience going Saturday mornings.

I have seen Dr. Belkin for over 5 years now and can easily say the best most comprehensive primary care physician I’ve EVER experienced in all of NYC. Please do not listen to the very biased negative reviews. First of all, those negative reviews are not an accurate representation, and personally, I believe they understand or empathize the quality of care Dr. Belkin delivers. First and foremost, Dr. Belkin has been the only doctor within my experience who has been able to not only provide excellent prognosis and treatment, but she also provides impactful quality-of-life suggestions to supplement. She’s not only provided dietary guidance (I went from 150lbs to 130lbs in 3 months), but she also ALWAYS asks about stress levels and makes an effort to dive deep. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience when a doctor sees you as a patient as opposed to just another human being who contributes to billing. Although incredibly busy, Dr. Belkin has always found the time to ask about me and provide key insights on any issues I may be experiencing. Sometimes there have been delays on appointments, but Dr. Belkin always communicates this and accommodates me by letting me know. A good doctor isn’t one who just prescribes medicine, but a good doctor is one who truly wants to understand and treat her patients’ ailments. On behalf of the negative reviews, a lot of those concerns do seem to be administrative (either thru Zocdoc which the app itself had issues) or possible insurance policy issues. I’ve had some issues with billing in the past but they were quickly resolved, and when reaching out to Dr. Belkin, she was able to direct me the correct info and we sorted it out. Any doctor can write up prescriptions and hope the patient gets better. Dr. Belkin is the kind of doctor who is sweet, caring, and most importantly utilizes her expertise to tackle any issues with fine-tuned nuance that makes her shine above all the other NYC doctors I’ve ever seen. If you want to see a NYC doctor who not only delivers quality care, but also is compassionate and knowledgeable about patients’ health and well-being, choose Dr. Belkin!
