Dr. Raymond and his staff are FANTASTIC. This Eye Doctor has been here for over 20 years. Very clean place, professional, has a family feel..... just the greatest! Staff speak english and spanish, wait time goes by quick, and parking is decent.

I went in for a check up and new glasses since it had nice reviews and was somewhat closer to my new house. Service was nice however despite my saying that the prescription from my check up was too strong during the check up, my glasses were still too strong for everyday wear. The free frames that came with my insurance were not very appealing so I paid (195$ for frames and a the UV coating) however, wasn't informed of the 30day period to have the prescription updated, only that the glasses had a 1 year warranty. I had tried to go back after I picked up but they were already closed at 7pm when their posted closing time for a Thursday was 8pm! Lo and behold its 8 months later, I've worn my new glasses all of twice because the sensory overload gave me intense headaches after 2 hrs of wear but I need them to walk around...they can't or won't do anything about it. Worst $195 I've spent to date...I had also planned to come in this year to refill my contacts supply but the service I received so far really isn't worth rushing there after work.

I've been coming here since I'm little. I'm now 39 years old.... This place has always been top of the line. Dr. Helfand is spot on with his exams and prescriptions. This man has been doing this for countless years and you never leave feeling like your prescription is off. They are very affordable with an excellent selection of frames. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming with a family type atmosphere. I recommend this place to anyone because I can guarantee quality product and service!!!! Love everything about this place- Dr.s, staff, selection of frames, reasonable prices, cleanliness. Best eye exam ever. Highly recommend - they truly care about your eye health & not just trying to sell high end frames like most places on the Island.

I recently went in for my exam and receptionist was pleasant and professional as was Dr. Helfand. I am satisfied with my prescription and I have my own Ray-Ban frames and told this to the Latina at the customer service counter. I needed a replacement case for my frames and asked for one. She told me no and that she couldn't do it. I told her I would pay for it and she said it is not allowed and then she tried to show me the cheap store frames! I had to tell her again that I have my own frames as I handed them over to her! She then proceeded to tell me it will take about a week for my prescription to come in and someone will call me. A week plus later no phone call so I went to pick up my frames and the same Latina is at the counter and I explained to her that no one called. She had to go look to see if my prescription came in and explained to me that it came in but my frames were still not ready. Instead of waiting in their crowded waiting area I left and went back about an hour and a half later to get my Ray-Ban frames and with no Ray-Ban case. I should've gone to my old Dr. on New Dorp lane!
