At first, I was nervous and both excited to see her as someone who suddenly developed a series of autoimmune symptoms two years ago. With Dr. Bayard being a POC as well, I felt really comfortable in her presence - until I didn't. I was having extreme chronic pain around my entire body, in which instead of running the needed tests, she instead referred me to a website to find other "black psychiatrists" in my neighborhood, insinuating that my pain was psychogenic. During our visits, she would also only run tests and look out for signs of Lupus - turns out I had TMJ, Sjogren's and Hashimoto’s which could have been figured out sooner had I received the proper care. Thankfully I am with a rheumatologist I trust now, but I'm writing this review for others to note that regardless of the relevancy of culture / skin color, patient care will always come first. Regarding the below review, If she cared about the patients comfort first, she would have inquired further about the topics I stressed to her about my health rather than closing her office room door to ask me if I was receiving psychological help and telling me she believed my symptoms were psychosomatic. Please do not dismiss patient experiences especially if you do not know them.

Very good and personable doctor. Took the time to explain and talk with me, which is not common in doctors. Very kind and obviously knowledgeable in her field. Regarding the above review, it sounds like a possible misunderstanding as once the doctor found out I was a therapist, she wanted to refer clients of color to me. It sounds more like she prioritizes her clients comfort more than anything. Overall, I reccomend.
