I had a very frustrating experience with this doctor's office that I feel needs to be shared. After setting up my insurance a month ago, I was assigned this doctor as my primary care physician. Unfortunately, I became seriously ill and ended up in the hospital, where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. The hospital made it clear that I needed to follow up with my family doctor urgently for further tests. When I called the office, the secretary informed me that the earliest appointment available was in a month. I explained my situation and emphasized the urgency of my condition, but she told me that the doctor prefers not to have a fully booked schedule. This seemed utterly ridiculous given my medical needs. She took my information and promised to speak with the nurse about my case, saying she would call me back. However, that call never came. I spent the night feeling terrible with a high fever, and when I called back the next day, the secretary acted as if our previous conversation had never happened. She reiterated that I would either have to wait a month or find another doctor. Feeling desperate, I reached out to another doctor's office and explained my situation. They immediately squeezed me into their schedule and gave me an appointment for the same day. This experience only highlighted the stark difference in patient care and responsiveness. If you’re looking for a doctor’s office that prioritizes patient health and timely communication, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. My experience here was marked by neglect and a lack of urgency that I find unacceptable for someone in need of medical attention.

I was a pt of Dr. Depetris for several years while I lived in NYC, and I can't say enough good things about him. Always gentle, honest, clear and attentive. Dr. Depetris strives to provide great family and internal medicine to all his patients. His staff Wanda is absolutely the best! She helped me get Rx refilled on time, was always willing to take care of any needed paperwork and responded to my calls and messages almost immediately. They are a great team. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Gustavo is excellent doctor but his office staffs are not helpful at all, I was trying to request my lab which was done 2 weeks ago and still not sure they will send me or not. I would like to have one quick question to the doctor and she did not let me talk and want me to make another appointment. It is non-sense. I have seen other doctors and they call me back later when they are busy. So difficult to reach him. He has been my PCP for many years but I will find another one in Astoria because I don't want to deal with his staffs.

Dr. Depetris is unique in that listens to you attentively without being distracted by a computer screen!! His bed manners are excelent and his care and knowledge of his craft are superb. Personnel is caring and attentive to details. A truly HEALING medical office.

Dr. Depetris is someone that listen and treats you with the up most respect. Gives you the best medical options for your problems. Very nice and pleasant. Wanda (sec.) always prepared, knolegable and very nice. Very professional..
