I went to Dr. Bryck for ACL surgery after a skiing injury. He told me that at 31 I was “older” and recommended a cadaver tendon. A few months later, my leg developed sepsis. I returned and needed emergency surgery to drain the infection. Six years later, the infection had never fully cleared. It had eaten away at my tibia and fibula and the ACL graft had failed. Dr. Bryck was condescending and tried to blame me for the re-injury. I went to HSS instead. Their team was far more professional. They tried to preserve my meniscus, which Dr. Bryck had treated as disposable by shaving it away without consulting me. The damage was severe. HSS initially expected three surgeries, but managed it in two: bone grafting with marrow from my hip, nine months of healing, then a hamstring autograft to rebuild the ACL. This could have been done properly the first time. Instead, it turned into nearly a decade of complications. Lesson learned: for serious joint injuries, go to a top-tier institution like HSS only.

To reiterate Dr. Eli Bryk will not and has not ever prescribed opioids without critical thinking that is client centered methodical orthopedic intervention-- not limited to his staff. Dr. Eli Bryck is an Excellent Orthopedic surgeon. I should have put this review here in 2023 because that's when I had a total knee replacement, my right knee. It took me some time to recover because I'm already disabled but, thanks to Dr. Bryck doing a wonderful job on my knee, I recovered beautifully. I'm blessed to have had him for my surgeon.

Dr Bryk quickly diagnosed my need for total hip replacement, and did a miraculous surgery that improved the problem quickly. Although hospital stays are never fun, staff at NY Presbyterian lower Manhattan were supportive and worked as en effective and knowledgeable team. Highly recommended if you need hip replacement.

Dr Eli Bryk,MD is absolutely the best othorpedic surgeon for me. I did a total knee replacement and I started walking the same day I did the surgery.I am still recuperating but so far I am very happy with the results. I love my Dr Bryk.
