David R Borenstein, M.D.

Dr Borenstein is a doctor who practices foundational medicine and does not take insurance but refuses to look at the whole picture and listen to patient feedback. The entire interaction with his office is hard - they are not user friendly and taking the requested blood tests is difficult - they send an old scan of blood test form that traditional labs find it difficult to follow. Find a doctor who cares about his patients and ask like he is being paid hundreds of dollars for a visit not Pennies by insurance.

Dr Borenstein has turned my health around! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 years ago and nothing the previous doctors prescribed was working for me. My first visit with Dr Borenstein was an eye opener...he asked me what my symptoms were and actually listened as I explained. This initial interview was very in depth as were the tests and labs he ordered for me...he was determined to find out exactly what was wrong with me and how to get me healthy again. I just had my 6 week check up and I am feeling better now than I have for 2 years! I am a patient for life...thank you!

Extremely unprofessional, money hungry, with a god complex and the world’s rudest assistant. When you work with a functional medicine doctor and paying the prices that Dr. Borenstein charges you are supposed to have a say in the course of your own treatment (otherwise we would stick with western medicine doctors, not worry about the cost and just get ignored) I asked the Dr. if he would consider a different approach in my treatment with the expectation that on our next appointment we will discuss this and as a team come to the best conclusion, before my next appointment Lisa called with the same rude attitude as always and told me that he doesn’t want to work with me anymore and she has no idea why and to not take up her time by asking her questions. I emailed the dr himself and asked what was going on and begged him to at least see me until I could find another doctor. He completely ghosted me. I was left without a dr and medicine for months while dr borenstein had no regards for my health. I was shocked because I was a patient of his record for a while and he would always joke with me and act nice prior to this incident, turned out his god complex could not handle any suggestions. And to leave a patient without care like that just shows how little regard he has for his patients’ wellbeing. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that actually cares for you.

I went to Dr. Borenstein for a stem cell transplant. I have Crohn's disease and have been struggling to find a treatment that wasn't filled with side effects. Within two weeks of the treatment, I had gained weight, was eating better and felt all around better. Dr. Borenstein was great, he called many times to follow up and see how I was doing. He seemed genuinely concerned about my health and well being and wanted to see good results. I am so happy that I found him online and would recommend him to anyone who asked!

Dr Borenstein is an amazing doctor. He is smart, caring, attentive and willing to think outside the box. I have done two stem cell treatments with him and these treatments have substantially improved my quality of life. They allow me to have the energy to be able work at a job I love and also have strengthened my immune system substantially. To put it in perspective, prior to starting stem cell therapy, I would miss approximately 40-50 days of work a year because of sickness. Over the last four months, I did not take one sick day! Although all of my symptoms are not resolved yet, things are so much better and I consider the stem cells to be a complete miracle. I know Dr. Borenstein is willing to keep trying with me and I feel less alone knowing someone else is thinking about my case. His kindness and bedside manner make me feel comfortable and cared for. I highly recommend Dr. Borenstein for anyone, but especially if you feel like you don’t know where to turn.
