Kimonas V
Dr. Edelstein was unprofessional during my mother’s visit to him for her eyes. She has had vision loss and severe dry eye with pain in her eye since being in an accident years ago and she has followed with ophthalmology at northwell for her care, but came here for a workers compensation case. Dr.Edelstein was rude and dismissive of her symptoms, going as far as to say the light that was shining in her eye is not causing her pain despite my mother asking him multiple times to turn the light off or to cover it. The entire visit he was denying that she was experiencing the symptoms she has been for years and are very well documented by her team of physicians at northwell. In addition to his poor bed side manner, in his report he noted that my mother has significant vision loss in her eye, but does not give his explanation why and instead simply said it is incidental and not related to her accident. I would be curious to know why an individual would have unilateral vision loss of 20/70 in a single eye that had a hyphema post trauma and it be age related or incidental as opposed to a sequelae of the trauma. It is unacceptable for a physician to make patients feel uncomfortable, deny their symptoms and be overall rude and uncaring in their practice. This was a terrible experience for a patient.
