Dr. Boah is an incredible doctor who truly cares for her patients and is very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest research. She is wonderful at explaining things clearly and listens to her patients requests and feedback. Her office is also very cozy and well decorated and the staff are very sweet and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Boah to anyone looking for a warm and knowledgeable Rheumatologist.

I would like to thank Doctor Boah Akua M.D. for her properly taking care of Luz Mina. Doctor Boah diagnoses Luz with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis and prescribes Luz with the correct medication to help Luz symptoms. Doctor Boah is very professional., kind and caring. I would give Doctor Boah a ten star. Doctor Boah will answer any questions you may have and take the time to explain all medication she give you I personally recommend anyone who has any pain of arthritis to go see Doctor Boah and tell her your symptoms. Even the the receptionist is helpful with appointments scheduled and any questions you may have. The office is very clean and waiting room. Again thank you Doctor Boah.

The staff at this office have terrible manners. The doctor did correct them in the moment, but both the receptionist and the assistant were extremely rude and unprofessional. During the exam, the assistant made an unnecessary and passive remark, which came across as condescending. The receptionist was visibly annoyed when asked a simple clarifying question and responded with a dismissive and rude comment. This was a disappointing experience overall. The staff's attitude creates an unwelcoming environment, and I hope they work on their professionalism and customer service to improve the reputation of the business.

Dr Akua is not the reason my mother passed away from ovarian cancer, but she is the reason why it went unchecked for so long despite my mother’s continuous mentions of what we now know were symptoms. My mother was very in tune with her body and any changes she may have experienced, so when she noticed something was off in her uterus/stomach region she told Dr.Akua hoping to find a solution. Instead of doing her due diligence, Dr. Akua insisted it was just constipation and told my mother to increase her fiber, to which she did, but to no avail. Over a few years time, this problem persisted and Dr. Akua missed it completely until it was too late. By the time, my mother got the biopsy she needed she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer that had metastasized to other regions in her body. From the point of diagnosis to her death was about a 1.5 year period. But she had been complaining about her symptoms at least 1-2 years prior. Unbeknownst to us, her cancer was growing and spreading and Dr. Akua brushed it off as constipation. If Dr. Akua had done her job and due diligence, maybe it would have been caught sooner, maybe she would have had a better chance at survival. Simply put, Dr Akua failed my mother. You’d think that as one black woman to another, Dr Akua would have been her biggest advocate and would have done everything necessary to find out what the issue was from the moment by mother brought it to her attention but she wasn’t and she didn’t. To all future and existing, please advocate for yourself and be persistent and insistent about your health because there is no guarantee that Dr. Akua will do it for you.
