Audrey Buxbaum, MD

Dr. Buxbaum wanted me to finish the current prescription I was on before beginning a new medication despite our agreement that my current prescription was not helping my symptoms. Her reasoning? She didn't want the remainder of my current prescription to wind up in the water supply: "better in your body than in the water". She was prioritizing the environment over patient health which is ridiculous because there are responsible ways to dispose of leftover medication - I wouldn't just put it in the trash. A few days after my appointment, the drugstore still didn't have the prescription for my new medication. I figured she'd forgotten so I sent a note to the practice who said they'd remind her. Still nothing. 2.5 weeks after my appointment, the doctor finally sent over my prescription. Whether she forgot or was hoping to "force" me to continue taking the medication that didn't help my symptoms, this is not a doctor I would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Buxbaum is a thoughtful, caring doctor that made me feel heard and offered solutions to the concerns I addressed.

Taking *no* new patients. I was referred by my PCP for unique medical situation. Called and was told that the doctors at this office are not and never will take new patients. Thought Google reviews would want to know this important information!

Dr. Buxbaum delivered my son 17 years ago. She was fantastic: I have a phobia of needles and my breech baby required a C-section. One of my strongest memories of that day was her holding my hands and calming me as the epidural was administered. She was caring, compassionate, and made the delivery -- fortunately -- uneventful. Fast forward to 2024, and I'm post-menopausal. I am thrilled to learn she's now specializing in this area, and I'm grateful to be starting treatment with her for my symptoms.

Dr. Buxbaum is super knowledgeable/experienced/attentive, and she has been very helpful esp. with pre/peri/menopausal issues. I’ve been going to Downtown Women for many years and every doc and nurse practitioner i’ve seen has been great. They are quite busy, and in the past there have been some support staff disorganization and follow-up issues, but that has improved a lot and i have no complaints. I’m grateful to Dr. Buxbaum and DW for their professionalism and care!
