(Disclaimer: I think this is only my second or third Google review, so I don't do these often) I've been wanting to get a lower bleph and fat transfer for over 10 years. I've been to countless consultations in New York and beyond, and none of them felt quite right. Then I heard about Dr. Halaas. From the moment you walk into the office to the moment you walk out, it's an incredible experience. The space is beautiful, calming, and modern. Every single staff member is pleasant, knowledgeable and welcoming. And Dr. Halaas blew me away from the moment she walked into the room. Her bedside manner is unparalleled. She's incredibly knowledgeable, honest, sharp, patient and kind, and she makes you feel comfortable through the whole process. The staff was incredibly thorough with all my pre-surgical work and prepared me well for what the surgical experience would be. Day of was just as wonderful. Any anxiety I felt immediately melted away when I walked into the office. Everyone was calming and made me feel incredibly comfortable. I've had multiple surgeries in my life, and this was BY FAR the smoothest. The anesthesiologist was great. The surgery was painless and the wake-up process was infinitely better than anything I've ever experienced. I expected some level of pain and discomfort, but I didn't even have to take Tylenol more than once. And the results are already life-changing. Follow up appointments have been equally as thorough. I was even able to talk to RO (their skincare specialist) who went through a recommended new skincare regimen, which I desperately needed. She was also incredibly knowledgeable. I will be moving all of my skin , face and surgical care over to Dr. Halaas' office.

After experiencing profound swelling and fibrosis from previous treatments, I struggled for a long time to find a doctor who both understood what was happening and was willing to approach it carefully. Many physicians either dismissed the issue or suggested aggressive interventions that didn’t feel safe. Dr. Halaas was completely different. From the first visit, it was clear that she takes a thoughtful, methodical, safety-first approach. She listens carefully, evaluates thoroughly, and moves slowly and intentionally rather than rushing into treatments. That level of caution and clinical judgment made all the difference in my case. With her guidance, the swelling and fibrosis improved significantly when I had nearly lost hope that anything could help. She has a deep understanding of complex aesthetic complications and approaches them with both technical skill and genuine care for the patient’s well-being. If you are dealing with a difficult or unusual complication and want a physician who prioritizes safety, precision, and thoughtful decision-making, I cannot recommend Dr. Halaas highly enough.
