They do offer help for individuals who have mental illness and this includes assistance with finding jobs and housing. Club members are responsible for cleaning the building answering the phones and assisting in the reception area doing data entry and preparing meals. I found several things disheartening about Venture House. Their gym consists of a bicycle and a punching bag and everything costs money from a cup of coffee to a meal. During my orientation I witnessed a man casually walk into the building and suckerpunch and assault a staff member. Five police officers came and I found out this was the third time that week that they had come to the building. They are letting bad apples participate in the program and it is very disconcerting.
