Healthcare Partners denied my IVF cycle while discriminating based on my age and refused to pay a previously approved cycle claiming "they didn't see the authorization" as per my doctor. Not true- you did send me an authorization, please comply with your own approvals! The two internal reviewers Dr Padula and Dr Bockenhauer discriminated based on age as per the denial letter. This is against EmblemHealth non-discrimination policy in NYS. Dr Joseph Padula and Dr Susan Bockenhauer are also not fertility specialists yet they are in charge of making important reproductive healthcare decisions for women. Not ok, Healthcare Partners, not ok! Decisions were based on chances of conception as per age and previously failed 2 cycles - again, discriminatory!! And, yes there is a reason the insurance allowed up to 3 cycles- why deny the third one because the two others failed? And, there is not a universally approved and accepted calculator in the fertility area that is actually used in treatment across the board as per a federal agency or any approved body - therefore, Healthcare Partners is using unauthorized methods to find reasons to deny important reproductive treatment.

More like Healthcare Enemies. They deny almost all authorization requests from all providers I do billing for, and if it's a procedure that costs over $1k, you might as well not even try. Also, here's an example of scam they have: for instance, you submit a request on Wednesday, and it gets denied on Friday. You get no notification, but suppose you call them for status in due time and are informed of the denial, and request a P2P discussion with the performing doctor. They tell you that a timeframe for P2P is 48 hours from the decision, so you still fit in, and transfer you to the P2P line. An IVR tells you that all reps are busy, asks you to call later and hangs up. You try multiple times the same day, and get the same result, and then business hours are over so you can't arrange a P2P until Monday. So you call them again on Monday and guess what? P2P timeframe is expired, so now your only option is to write and file an appeal that will be in review for up to 1 month and probably denied as well. I actually asked them about the weekends and rep assured me that only business hours count, but in practice it doesn't work like they say. To wrap it up, they will do anything to not cover the services you or your patients receive, and I can confirm everything stated in other negative reviews here.
