I was scheduled for an intake session with Vanessa Carter LCSW and she completely did not show up. I waiting for over 20 minutes called and texted her direct line and left a voicemail and email with the agency. When someone got back to me a day later (the founder Soribel) initially Vanessa lied to her and said she waited for me in the zoom for 15 minutes and then left. I was two minutes early to the zoom and she never showed up. I had text message proof of me reaching out to her with no response. It really disgust me that someone who considers themselves a professional would just lie. I was told that i could not be connected to any other therapist because this was the only therapist they have for NY. So my time was completely wasted and ultimately I wasn’t able to be connected to any services. Although Soribel was apologetic, it doesn’t change the fact that a therapist that was hired by this organization is a liar who has no professional integrity. That is what i experienced here. So although Vanessa may not reflect the whole organization, she was most of my experience with them. As someone who is seeking mental health services for various reasons i cannot begin to tell you how this emotionally impacted me. I am truly disgusted and hope that no one has to deal with Vanessa Carter when seeking mental health services. To this day Vanessa has not apologized for her disgusting behavior and if this is a reflection of her poor professionalism.
