Doctor Contristano started off my bad experience by taking an hour pizza break. After waiting 1.5 hours with only 2 patients ahead of me, I was finally seen. I told him that I was certain that I had a torn meniscus or arthritis. His response was to X-ray my knee (anyone with knowledge on torn meniscus would know that an X-ray would not show this...that you indeed would need an MRI..he also informed me on the price of the x-ray out of pocket). After reviewing my X-ray, he told me that I had no broken bones (which I knew), and dismissively wrote me a prescription for pain killers (which I did not want) and sent me on my way. In response, I told him that I was not leaving until we got to the bottom of my knee pain and that I had more questions. He came back into the room , and I cried as I told him that I have been waiting weeks in order to be able to see a Dr for my knee pain. I asked him about either having a torn meniscus, or arthritis and that I really needed to know what was wrong with me. He then did blood work on me (which no one told me would have any additional cost associated with) and gave me a referral for an MRI. All in all, the MRI showed that I DID have a torn meniscus. Overall, Dr. C ignored my problem, and was going to send me away with pain killers, which would not heal my torn meniscus, and he did not forewarn me of the associated cost with the blood work for arthritis, and I was sent a letter for a lab bill of $871 (I called Dr. C and he is giving me 70% off coupon for the blood work...but I would not have known this if I did not question him personally).... I would say that Dr. C has no regard for his patients and just wants to get people out of his face and get them addicted to pain killers. Do not go here. That is all.
