Perinatal Maternal Psychiatry Of New York Pc

My Wife was transfer here for ECT, This hospital is big feel like a university campus, which is very nice compared to other hospital! The place is brand new super clean!! Women and men are in separate Unit which make it feel very safe!! The Nurses And Tech are very nice !! Doctor is great they treat her symptoms, the alone thing I don’t like is they kept her there one extra week when she was good to go home! Social worker didn’t talk to us at the beginning, she only reach out on the last week right before she about to go home after over a month of staying there! They also lost her clothes!!! This place has the best visiting hour of all the hospitals we been to! 11-8pm everyday!!

I despise the psychiatric industry bc of repeated misdiagnoses and medication that made me eat uncontrollably. I got up to 299 lbs and I had to work extremely hard to lose 130 of those lbs. But I will say this facility other than Central regional in NC is one of the only facilities that carefully evaluated me and did not pill push. Dr. Roth in 5 North is one of the most decent psychiatrists along with the others on that unit I've ever worked with. Even the bipolar unit said I don't have bipolar and that is their specialty. This place does not lie for money unlike other facilities in NY. Last time I was their I know I was in a very dark place and had a brief psychotic breakdown from guilt. It was the absolute worst year of my life. But they never gave up on me and despite having psychosis at the time they knew it was not bipolar or schizophrenia. Bc once again they carefully evaluated me for years. Most doctors see people for 5 minutes and put a label and medicate. Dr. Roth did not do that. I have a lot of respect for him and mind u I cant stand psychiatrists bc of what I went through with the weight gain. Definitely bring your loved one here if they need to be bc they take their time with all of their patients and have a team. Their also segregate based on diagnosis which most facilities mix ppl.
