I had a TEE procedure today at NYU Langone's Kimmel Pavilion at 530 First Avenue, and my overall experience was excellent. From the moment I arrived, everything was organized and efficient. I received a digital pass before my appointment, which made entering the building easy and stress-free. Security staff and the front desk team were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The nurses, technicians, and doctors treated me with kindness and respect throughout the entire process. I especially want to recognize Nurse Celeste in the recovery area. She was warm, attentive, and compassionate, making me feel comfortable after the procedure. She went above and beyond, and her kindness made a lasting impression. I also want to acknowledge the doctors who performed my exam. I came into the procedure feeling nervous and, admittedly, a little skeptical when I learned about the bubble study portion of the evaluation. I had not fully understood beforehand that it was commonly performed as part of a TEE workup for someone being evaluated after a TIA. Because of that, I asked a lot of questions and was probably a little more challenging than usual. Looking back, I appreciate the doctors taking the time to explain why the additional testing was being recommended and allowing me to make an informed decision. After reviewing my results and learning more about the procedure, I am grateful that both parts of the evaluation were completed. Another thing that impressed me was how quickly my results became available. Within just a few hours, I was able to review the findings in MyChart, which greatly reduced my anxiety. As a patient, I value clear communication and understanding the care I receive. While I would have appreciated more advance information about the bubble study before arriving for my appointment, the professionalism, skill, and compassion shown by the entire NYU Langone team were outstanding. Five stars without hesitation. Thank you to everyone involved in my care.
