The administration staff and call center is not good here. I was admitted in the hospital sick with an illness and I had to miss my physical therapy appointments, I did call days before and let them know. Because I missed 2 visits the manager said I need to be “re-evaluated” again and go through a paperwork evaluation. When I ask to speak to a supervisor on the phone for a regular physical therapy appointment the supervisor said the following on the phone “Do you think this a gym here? This is not a gym you can’t just come to whenever you want.” I already have a planet fitness gym membership and previously had New York sports club and equinox gym memberships, I don’t need a physical therapy center as a “gym.” Especially this ratchet place. My MRI clearly shows I have damage on my spine and the doctor referred me to come here, yet the supervisor thinks I’m trying to use this place as a gym. Because of such rudeness and arrogance I went elsewhere and got better physical therapy. My back pain is now better. This place at NYP is not great and the supervisor is very rude. They only do exercises here and no massage or tens machine. I don’t recommend this place at all and I hope NYP investigates the supervisor who was rude to me on the phone when I asked for an appointment and didn’t want to do an unnecessary “re-evaluation.” My new physical therapy place doesn’t do these evaluations and they focus on genuine healing using exercises, posture, tens machine, technology devices stretches, massage gun, and massage and they never deny an appointment to any patients like NYP did to me.
