Best care I've gotten in my adult life.
That being said, I haven't had a lot of it--I'm an artist who is often uninsured and/or often not at a homebase. For the past six months though, I've been able to come here for care (primary, allergy, pulmonary, dern) and want to shout out two providers in particular:
Primary Care, Nina Paddu
Caring, soft, modern, and doesn't push things on you right away without listening to the full issue. She managed to refer me to all the places (four different specialists) I needed after not being in the Healthcare system for 15 years with specificity and efficiency while also prescribing me with treatment for care in the meantime between appointments with them. As a millennial, it was great to be cared for by someone I felt I could see eye-to-eye with and never felt shamed or judgment from.
Allergist, Mary Lee Wong
Methodic, quirky, personable, and the doctor I've connected with most on a personal level. Queer-friendly, understanding, and will walk you through every question or concern that you have. I have literally pages of allergies, and the way she made sure that I was taken care of and properly assessed--which at times even had her arguing with my insurance--I had the utmost confidence in her care. She is ultimately experienced and relatable, and I will miss seeing her as my current insurance membership lapses.
Hospital-wise; their clientele are primarily older seniors that scope the Orthodox Jewish, Chinese, Latino, and some Southern Asians in the neighborhood. Theyre pretty consistently busy but it isn't terrible to get an appointment in. It can be hard to navigate (the allergist was on a combined fourth floor accessible by an elevator found by going through the backdoor located through a parking lot). Everyone is generally caring, though sometimes can be short from dealing with ornery, sick, older generations of folk.
