Metropolitan Pediatrics Pc

We used Metro Pediatrics from birth until 9 for our daughter. Everything went well and we liked the practice - receptionists and all - until the 9 year check up. My child is a gymnastic and tall and muscley for her age - and as such has a BMI that does not reflect her health accurately. My prepubescent child was told she was overweight for her age and had to watch what she ate. Also, the office did not offer us a doctor that matched the gender of our child - and we didn't realize we should have asked (which is our bad for sure - wont make that mistake again). After that experience we've decided to find a different pediatric practice. And even if your kid is a rolly polly, shouldn't the doctor speak with the parents first? or only? Disappointing. To be clear we're leaving because our values fell out of alignment. To rely wholly on an outdated metric based on middle aged white guys without taking the athletic black girl reality into account - especially when we know what our daughters face in the world - is a deal breaker. I hope this review prevents this experience for any other family.

I really love the providers. We have seen many and all have been great. I have never had a long wait time in the lobby but sometimes waiting in the exam room can be torture especially with young kids wanting to touch everything. But we never feel rushed once our turn which is important. The only real issue I have had is with the front office. I have to jump through hoops to get bills rectified. Also I concur with other reviews about feeling like you are an inconvenience when you approach the desk.
