I recently attended a presentation at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) on intergenerational trauma, and I was deeply impressed by both the depth of the content and the thoughtful facilitation. The presentation was not only informative, but also incredibly grounding and relevant for clinicians working through a trauma-informed lens. The speaker skillfully wove together clinical research, case examples, and sociocultural context to illuminate how trauma can be passed down through generations—not just genetically or psychologically, but also through systems, family dynamics, and unspoken narratives. It brought a new layer of understanding to my own work with clients and offered practical tools for exploring lineage, identity, and healing in the therapy room. ICP continues to provide high-quality, meaningful education for mental health professionals. This presentation reaffirmed why I value being in community with thoughtful, socially aware clinicians who are committed to deep inquiry and ongoing learning. Highly recommend!

I completed the two-year psychotherapy training program at ICP and had a truly meaningful experience. The training was rich and thought-provoking, and I learned so much that continues to inform my work today. One of the most valuable parts was the sense of community—my cohort became a lasting network of support and connection.
