I scheduled a follow-up appointment after receiving a concerning letter mailed to my home regarding my results. Naturally, this caused significant anxiety. I called to ask if I could briefly speak with the physician for clarification, but was told that was not possible due to my insurance. Because I was worried about my health, I made an appointment for the very next day. I arrived on time, but waited approximately two and a half hours to be seen. This was especially frustrating since the visit was simply to confirm whether everything was okay. When I finally spoke with my doctor, I was told that all of my results were normal. I was informed that the letter was sent by staff protocol. I strongly believe sending alarming letters without clear explanation can cause unnecessary emotional distress to patients. While I appreciate the doctor reassuring me, the long wait time and poor communication made this a very upsetting experience.
