Art Creates Magic
I had an awful experience within this institution. The clinical staff, ones expected to have “bedside manners” made me uncomfortable. Here I was expected to comply without conversation. Dr. Castro, the one calling the shots on my case o my saw me twice. First to assess, and finally to discharge. I felt my needs ignored and my voice unheard. As someone who leans in on western medicine practice when “shit hits the fan” — It saddens me to say my expierence at nysip has shaken me to my core. Non clinical staff gossiped about patients, rules that had previously been set in place for the benefit and safety of patients wasn’t enforced. Dorms open way to late after evening medication. Counter productive treatment I believe. My suggestion be that the clinical staff self evaluate their position and willingness to participate in the aid of someone at their most vulnerable.
