I would not recommend this clinic if you need anything more complicated than a wellness checkup. They will not be honest about the limitations of their level of care or expertise for anything beyond basic wellness. I eventually had to go to the ER for severe hypoglycemia and got proper testing and specialist referrals elsewhere. This was for conditions and symptoms that the NP assigned to me dismissed and even labeled me as “drug-seeking” for asking about Metformin. As if junkies line Sunset seeking Metformin. This could have been prevented with appropriate medical care from the start and I regret wasting anytime going to Tia. I booked seeking support for PCOS and hypoglycemia, but the assigned NP was not equipped to address these conditions adequately. When I asked about treatment options like metformin (which I clearly qualified for based on my HbA1c of 5.7% and PCOS diagnosis), I was told to ‘just eat better’ and referred to a paid dietitian service without any real medical intervention or specialized care. The NP also dismissed my concerns about episodes of reactive hypoglycemia and didn’t seem knowledgeable about managing blood sugar issues beyond basic dietary advice. There was no comprehensive treatment plan, no referrals to specialists, and no acknowledgment that these conditions required more than what they could offer at Tia. In fact, she became rude and offended that I balked at the nutritionist referral as a primary treatment. In another room I could hear another woman sobbing, also clearly frustrated and upset at the (lack of) care she was receiving. It’s hard enough as a woman navigating healthcare If you have any complex situations especially metabolic or hormonal conditions, I’d recommend going anywhere else rather than wasting time and money here. It’s possible that Tia may be fine for routine wellness care, but they’re definitely not prepared to handle anything that requires actual medical expertise or intervention.
