I visited IPA 11 weeks post-surgery for a full rupture of my Achilles (I am an ultra-marathoner and triathlete). I WISH I would have visited sooner. I had not been making the progress I should have with other PTs over the last month and was becoming quite concerned and frankly, very frustrated. I *literally* walked into IPA this morning with a limp, and walked out with a smooth gait (maybe even a strut! Thanks to the deep manual work done). For something as serious and critical as Achilles rupture recovery, it pays to just go see the best from the start.

We love IPA as their therapy is the best in the city. Nathan is just phenomenal. He has helped us with bad knees, poor posture, bad gait and compressed leg, backache etc.

Excellent physical therapy practice! I've been coming here for about a year, working with Patrick. He has helped me tremendously with complex issues including gait problems, breathing difficulties, and poor posture. Patrick combines advanced manual techniques with targeted exercises, and I've seen consistent improvement after each session. He holds in-depth skills across a variety of disciplines (sports PT, PRI, cranio-sacral therapy, internal organ motility, etc) and this has made a real difference. Patrick is not only technically excellent but also personable and makes each session positive. Highly recommend this practice, and especially working with Patrick!

I herniated a disk in my lumbar spine months ago. I did PT at a traditional place for several months but wasn't seeing any improvement, so I reached out to IPA. Dean Hazama explained that some of the PT exercises I had been doing were actually hurting more than helping. He released the deep muscles in my back that were locked up and keeping my spine from moving freely. Finally, I saw real improvement for the first time in many months. He also assessed my movements: sitting to standing, picking things up, walking, etc, and explained that I would continue to strain my back and neck unless I addressed some of the underlying issues of my unconscious body mechanics. Dean encouraged me to get a more structured backpack that would distribute weight evenly across the chest and shoulders and that has been a game changer! I have also learned how to walk properly. It has been such a gift to find IPA.

After I blew out a 2nd disc in my lower back, working with Patrick at IPA has been the key to my recovery. I found Functional Manual Therapy to be very deep and sensitive work with fascia and connective tissue that has been amazing for reducing pain, and restoring mobility and even improving organ function, in a much more holistic way than usual physical therapy (which I've done tons of). Patrick would address whatever pain showed up next, not limiting his care to just what the doctor wrote on the Rx - and of course it's all connected. In addition, the exercises Patrick prescribed also felt more holistic - I could clearly feel how they engaged my hold body to move in better, stronger, more connected ways, not just the one body part I injured. The result is that I'm feeling the best I've felt overall in a very long time!
