Overpriced. They don’t accept insurance. Be prepared to deal with submitting claims for each visit, and making sure Embodied prepares your statements correctly. Check with your insurance company regarding the maximum allowable amount they will reimburse. Embodied will “offer” you a sliding scale to choose how much you pay per visit, but your insurance will only reimburse on, say, a maximum of a $124 appointment fee. We were initially quoted $220 per appointment, which is ridiculous, especially when you don’t accept insurance. We “chose” to pay a reduced fee of $170 per visit without knowing about this maximum allowable amount. As such, in the end, we’re out over $1,000 because Cigna won’t reimburse such an exorbitant amount. Of course, this is shameful on both ends— Embodied and Cigna. Lesson learned. I’ve contacted Embodied since, and they just “apologize” on behalf of our insurance. That being said, the couples therapy was good and accommodating (therapist was in-training, also), but go somewhere else that doesn’t overcharge or that accepts your insurance. There are many other places.
