CityMD Westchester Square Urgent Care - Bronx

This has been the worst experience I ever had at a urgent care. As someone who turned 26 and was priced out of health care with my mother’s plan I decided to visit the doctor on my own terms and take care of my health. I haven’t been to the doctor in years but I needed to change that. I’m a chronic asthmatic and need pumps daily. I went for more pumps since I was out and I simply asked for a prescription that I’ve only known since I was a kid ADVAIR. This was something my health insurance covered while under my mother’s. I’m now on my own and my new policy didn’t cover those and prescription expired. I had to pay a $25 co pay which is fine I’m an adult now. My visit was VERY quick. I was asked a few questions why I was there etc and didn’t seem like anyone cared. Doctor comes in I say the same thing about my pumps and showed him what I had previously and he asked me if I had a nebulizer which I had. He then proceeded to grab a hand full of albuterol and give it to me. Weird and never experienced that before. Then proceeds to prescribe me “what i insisted” and come to find out my insurance doesn’t cover it. $500 to grab 1 btw. I then call and asked the doctor to change my prescription to a generic brand my insurance covers. The doctor then refused to change it because he claimed I insisted on that. It was obvious he did not care and was rushing me out with bare minimum questions. This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor and will never visit this place again. The doctor was a young to middle aged Asian man. When people are in need / sick this is not how you treat them. This is unacceptable, please don’t waste your time and money here. $25 to feel like shit !!!

I would like to share my experience how I went to this office @CityMDWestchestersquare with five sick children, including myself. The wait time was short, Hence, the one star. We got in the back they put us all in one room. We had one chair and were told that it was a fire hazard to bring in any other chairs, so the children had to sit on the floor or stand up all around the room while they were sick. We were tested for flu and notified that we were all positive. This is where it gets crazy. He never looked at anything on us. He never checked anyone for anything. He just came in and offered medicine. He never looked at anyone’s eyes, ears, nose or throat. He didn’t say cough. He didn’t do anything.My four year year-old would be celebrating her birthday today. She had a lot of pain in her ears. I had to go outside in the hallway and get him and ask him to come and check the babies ears and he seemed as if this was too much of a task for himself. He then decided to tell me that there was nothing that he could give her for the ear even though he said it was red inside and could be infected. I called my sister a nurse, and she stated that the baby could have gotten a prescription for amoxicillin when I reached back out to the doctor and said something to him about the medicine he told me there was nothing that he could give her and that he had prescribed Tamiflu, and that the Tamiflu would heal everything. Truth be told Tamiflu is for the flu. It has nothing to do with fighting an ear infection. He could’ve prescribed her amoxicillin. When I went back to the desk to ask about this, I was told he left for the night if you want you can bring her back tomorrow. I pray I don’t ever have to go back there. This is the city MD in Westchester Square. I wish I had all the names so that I could post them. I will definitely be giving my insurance company call in the morning Because I’m not understanding what payment they’re expecting other than they gave us a flu test and sent us out of the door as fast as they could. Not very professional, not empathetic and certainly not what a doctor should represent. When I find out the doctor’s name, I will be adding it. He was a middle aged or younger Chinese guy. This is unacceptable.
