Overall, the check-in and wait time were not bad at all, especially considering I came in as a walk-in patient. The front desk staff, medical assistant, and physician were all friendly and professional. My main concern was the infection control practices I observed during my visit. As a healthcare professional myself, I noticed that the medical assistant was using gloves while touching the computer keyboard, which did not to have a protective barrier. The same gloves were then used to leave the operatory and return without being changed. Additionally, I did not observe any hand hygiene being performed, such as hand sanitizer use or handwashing, before returning to patient care activities. While the staff were courteous and the overall experience was positive, I believe infection control is an important part of patient safety and should be consistently followed.
