Not up to typical Hoag standards. Some of the nurses are wonderful, and some just seem to want to get through the day. Appointments are set the night before your treatment which is OK if you are a new patient, but not an established patient. It is hard to plans, such as set new medical appointments. And, they don't always call, sometimes they just show up. Or show up outside of the time window you were given. I have been on medications that are effecting some of my body's metabolic functions. I have a weekly blood test and would like to see the results, but the nurse I currently have refuses to take the test to the Hoag lab. (A previous nurse did). The current nurse takes it to Quest as it is more convenient for her but I am not able to see the current status. Spoke at length to her about why I need to see the blood work, but she would not budge. I asked if I had the results sent to my primary care doctor (also Hoag) if it would then be visible on MyChart she said yes. That is incorrect. Called the supervisor but still no change. I have learned that when you ask the nurses to make annotations to your chart that either does not happen or the notes are not read. Called the patient customer service line at Hoag, but you just have to leave a message and should get a response in 3 days. Overall disappointing experience.
